Dr. Kishor Saitwal's Bio

Dr. Kishor Saitwal is currently working as a Computer Vision Scientist at Behavioral Recognition Systems, Inc. since May 2006, where he designs and implements computer vision and machine learning algorithms for company's multiple award-winning AISightTM Behavioral AnalyticsTM software. He has co-authored 22 patents (filed with USPTO) with his colleagues at BRS; the umbrella patent titled Behavioral Recognition System is filed internationally in nine countries.

Dr. Saitwal received his Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Instrumentation and Controls from University of Pune, India in 1998 and graduated with his MS and PhD degrees from the ECE Department at Colorado State University, USA, in 2001 and 2006, respectively. His graduate research is published in number of peer-reviewed journal and conference papers, while his dissertation is published as a research book by one German Publishing Firm in 2009. He was nominated for the best student paper award at IROS 2004 conference.

Dr. Saitwal is an At-Large member of Upsilon Pi Epsilon and a full member of Sigma Xi. He is also a full member of IEEE and has served as a Chairman of Student Branch Chapter of IEEE Robotics and Automation Society during his graduate studies at CSU. He is actively working as a reviewer for eleven peer-reviewed journals, including International Journal of Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition, IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks, and Neural Networks. His research interests include Computer Vision, Digital Image/Video Processing, Pattern Recognition, and Machine Learning.
